Construction of Ethiopian Community School in Djibouti launched

Addis Ababa, April 5, 2025 (FMC) – The construction of Ethiopian Community School in Djibouti has officially been launched this morning.

The construction was launched by the Ethiopian Ambassador to Djibouti, Berhanu Tsegaye, along with officials from the Dire-Dawa University and members of the Ethiopian community in Djibouti.

In his speech at the launch event, Ambassador Berhanu said that the construction of the community school on the 4-hectare land provided by the Government of Djibouti will not only allow Ethiopian parents living in Djibouti to teach their children in their country’s curriculum, language, and education system, but will also strengthen the relationship between the governments and peoples of the two countries.

He said that the beginning of the construction was the realization of the long-awaited vision of establishing a school in Djibouti.

It is learned that the community school building was designed entirely by the Dire-Dawa University.

It is said that the construction will be undertaken by Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation.
