Round-table discussion underway in Jimma University on BRICS Think Tanks Council

Addis Ababa, April 5, 2025 (FMC) — A round-table discussion is underway at Jimma University organized by Ethiopia’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA), on the 2025 the BRICS Think Tanks Council (BTTC) document.

The discussions held under the theme: “Ethiopian Expert Institutions: BRICS Insights for National Aspirations.”

The e BRICS Think Tanks Council is a platform for the exchange of ideas among researchers, academia and think tanks, to convene the BRICS Academic Forum, and to present policy recommendations and guidance to the BRICS Leaders for consideration.

The BTTC comprises the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA) (Brazil), the National Committee for BRICS Research (NRC/BRICS) (Russia), the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) (India), China Council for BRICS Think tank Cooperation (CCBTC) (China), and the National Institute for the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIHSS) (South Africa).

As new countries have joined the BRICS bloc, more additional think Tanks and institutes are entering the BRICS Think Tanks Council from various countries, it was indicated.
