UAE reaffirms continued cooperation with AU

Addis Ababa, April 10, 2025 (FMC) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reiterated its commitment to maintain its partnership with the African Union (AU).

Deepening collaboration between both sides was one of the main discussion points during a meeting between the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, and the Ambassador of the UAE to Ethiopia, according to AU’s press note issued today.

On the occasion, the AUC Chairperson and the Ambassador also explored ways of enhancing UAE investments in key sectors across Africa.

The Chairperson appealed for the UAE’s support for AU-led peace and stabilisation initiatives.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Rashedi reaffirmed the UAE’s continued commitment to AU-UAE cooperation.

The Ambassador also conveyed a formal invitation from his government for the AUC Chairperson to visit the UAE.
