Brazil to host 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in June 2025

Addis Ababa, April 16, 2025 (FMC) – Brazil is set to host the 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in Brasilia from 3 to 5 June 2025, marking the first time the country has assumed the role of official host for this major international event.

Organised within the Brazil Federal Senate, the forum will gather delegations from 31 legislative bodies and approximately 150 parliamentarians representing BRICS member states and partner countries.

This gathering continues the tradition of inter-parliamentary dialogue, established in 2015, aimed at enhancing political coordination and legislative cooperation across the BRICS group, TV BRICS reported, citing the official website of the Brazilian Senate.

Brazil holds the rotating presidency of BRICS for 2025 and has announced key priorities for its leadership term. These include strengthening global health cooperation, promoting fair and inclusive international trade, addressing climate change, advancing artificial intelligence governance, and consolidating the institutional development of BRICS itself.

In addition to the parliamentary forum, Brazil will also host the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro from 6 to 7 July 2025. This will be the fourth time Brazil has welcomed a BRICS summit, having previously hosted the meetings in 2010, 2014, and 2019.
