Addis Ababa Mayor inaugurates 25th and 26th feeding centers to support vulnerable communities
Addis Ababa, April 20, 2025 (FMC) – Addis Ababa Mayor Ms. Adanech Abiebie today inaugurated the city’s 25th and 26th Tesfa Birhan Feeding Centers, further advancing efforts to support the economically disadvantaged through free meal programs across the capital.
The newly inaugurated centers are part of an ongoing initiative launched by the Addis Ababa City Administration in 2021 to provide free daily meals to those in need by establishing feeding facilities in collaboration with the private sector and public institutions.
Constructed with the support of Ayat Share Company and the Ethiopian Customs Commission, the new feeding centers represent another milestone in the city’s growing network of community welfare projects.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mayor Adanech expressed her gratitude to the contributing partners for their meaningful support. She also called on other institutions and investors to take part in the effort to uplift vulnerable citizens through similar acts of social responsibility.
The Tesfa Birhan centers serve as safe spaces where economically disadvantaged individuals can access nutritious meals every day, playing a vital role in improving the quality of life for many residents across Addis Ababa.
