Addis Int’l Convention Center vital to strengthen the MICE sector – PM

Addis Ababa, February 28, 2025 (MC) – The Addis International Convention Center (AICC) is the latest addition to of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, Prime Minister Abiy said.

“As a world-class venue, it plays a crucial role in attracting international events, fostering business tourism, and positioning the country as a premier destination for global gatherings,” the Prime Minister said in a post on his social channels.

It is worth noting that the construction of the state-of-the-art facility of the Center was completed earlier this month, as confirmed by the Mayor of Addis Ababa on February 12.

The AICC reportedly has a surface area spread over 40 hectares and can accommodate 10,000 people at a time. It also boasts two large halls, each able to accommodate 4,000 people, while eight other halls accommodate from 100 to 1,000 people each, depending on the size of the room.
