Addis Ababa, April 19, 2025 (FMC) – The 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will take place from Monday, April 21 to Saturday, April 26, under the theme “Jobs – The Path to Prosperity”.
The Annual Meetings bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, civil society, media, and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, global financial stability, poverty eradication, inclusive economic growth and job creation, climate change, and others.
The Annual Meetings will include the meetings of the Boards of Governors, the joint World Bank Group/IMF Development Committee, and the IMF International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC). The Development Committee and the IMFC advise the Boards of Governors on issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.
Concerns over trade battles, looming inflation, high global debt levels and the impact of artificial intelligence on the world economy are also front and center for policy makers in their meetings.
The IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings coincide with the G20 Finance meetings, led this year by South Africa.
The World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings are held for two consecutive years at the World Bank Group and IMF headquarters in Washington, D.C., US, and every third year in another member country. Morocco hosted the 2023 Annual Meetings.
