Addis Ababa, December 25, 2204 (FMC) – The Federal Technical and Vocational Training Institute (FTVTI) has announced its official membership in the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training. This affiliation aims to elevate the quality of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) across member countries. According to a press release from the institute, Ethiopia’s application to become a UNEVOC member was previously submitted, and FTVTI’s membership will last until December 31, 2027.
The institute noted that future membership renewal will depend on performance and mutual consent. With the backing of UNESCO-UNEVOC, FTVTI is committed to collaborating with other members to enhance TVET standards globally. The UNEVOC network emphasizes the role of its members, urging them to be proactive in fostering better community futures. The network’s success hinges on its members being both beneficiaries and contributors to its goals, nurturing a favorable environment for development, as EPA reported.
The roles and responsibilities of UNEVOC center coordinators are detailed in the UNEVOC network handbook. For 30 years, members of the UNEVOC network have embodied a spirit of cooperation and mutual support. The network is managed by the UNEVOC secretariat, as reported by The Ethiopian Herald.
