Addis Ababa, February 16, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, held talks with the Foreign Minister of Madagascar, Rasata Rafaravavitafika, earlier today on the margins of the 38th AU Summit here in Addis Ababa.
On the occasion, the Foreign Ministers discussed ways of further enhancing cooperation on bilateral, continental and multilateral issues of shared interest.
The Ministers have agreed to further cooperate in advancing Agenda 2063, trade, tourism, investment, aviation, handicrafts, biodiversity conservation, heritage management, environmental protection and climate.
FM Gedion said, Ethiopia and Madagascar could cooperate in experience sharing in key economic sectors and continental integration through Joint Ministerial Commissions and Political Consultations.
FM Rafaravavitafika, on her part, thanked the Government of Ethiopia for the warm welcome and great hospitality and expressed her country’s readiness to further cooperate, among others, in sharing best practices in Ethiopia in areas like heritage management as epitomized by Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, economic development, the aviation sector, protection of biodiversity and environment and climate related matters.
