Addis Ababa, April 16, 2025 (FMC) – A productive discussion aimed at enhancing investment and trade ties between Ethiopia and South Africa took place with the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI).
The meeting was hosted by Delil Kedir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to South Africa, with Adv. Mtho Xulu, President of SACCI.
The conversation encompassed a wide range of economic topics, with a strong focus on trade and investment opportunities in Ethiopia, as outlined by the Ambassador. He also identified potential areas for collaboration with the Chamber.
Emphasizing the significance of partnership, Adv. Mtho Xulu echoed the Ambassador’s sentiments and identified specific avenues for collaboration that could transform trade and investment relations. He reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening these ties.
In conclusion, both parties reached a consensus to collaborate within the BRICS+ Business Council framework.
They also agreed to establish an institutional framework to facilitate the creation of a B2B platform, fostering cooperation between the Ethiopian and South African chambers of commerce.
Plans were made to form a joint business council and conduct high-level B2B meetings to advance these initiatives.
