Addis Ababa, April 14, 2025 (FMC) – Jemal Beker, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, held talks with Secretary of Defence, Lt. Gen (R) Muhammad Ali HI(M), at the Ministry of Defense in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in areas of defense and aviation to further strengthen their bilateral ties which are based on mutual respect and understanding, according to a social media post by the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the Ambassador noted the fresh impetus in the bilateral relations with the opening of the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and also due to the commencement of the operations of Ethiopian Airlines in Pakistan.
He highlighted the strategic position of Ethiopia, its contributions to ensure peace and security in the region, and also the leading role Ethiopia has played for regional integration.
On the other hand, the Defence Secretary lauded the economic growth in the FDR Ethiopia under the leadership of Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, and expressed his commitment to strengthen Pakistan relations with the African countries including Ethiopia.
He assured the Ambassador of all possible support to further enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
