Ethiopian ambassador meets with Nigerian president Bola Tinubu

Addis Ababa, January 30, 2025 (FMC) — Ambassador of Ethiopia to Nigeria Mr. Legese Geremew Haile today presented his credentials to the president of the west African nation Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

During a discussion with Bola Tinubu in Abuja, the Ambassador assured the President that he is ready work to further strengthen the long-standing relations between the top two most populous countries in the continent during his tenure as the ambassador of the east African nation in Nigeria.

Ambassador Legese also informed President Tinubu that he will is ready to work to enhance bilateral relations in the economic sector, especially trade and investment, culture and aviation.

He also acknowledged the great contribution of Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest aviation brand, in creating people-to-people ties and thanked the Nigerian government for its support to the airline’s operations.

President Bola Tinubu, for his part, noted that his country, Nigeria, is working closely and cooperatively with Ethiopia on African issues and other issues of mutual interest.

He assured the Ambassador that his government will provide him with the necessary support in all areas of his activities to strengthen the relations between the two countries during his stay and wished him a good working period, as per the Embassy of Ethiopia in Abuja.
