Addis Ababa, March 2, 2025 – (FMC) Ethiopian runners achieved an impressive double victory at the Tokyo Marathon, clinching both the men’s and women’s titles.
Tadesse Takele secured the win in the men’s category, finishing the race with a personal best time of 2 hours, 03 minutes, and 23 seconds. In the women’s race, Sutume Assefa crossed the finish line first, completing the marathon in 2 hours, 16 minutes, and 31 seconds.
The Tokyo Marathon, recognized as a platinum event by World Athletics, featured a great competition, with Deresa Geleta finishing just behind Tadesse in second place with a time of 2 hours, 03 minutes, and 51 seconds, as reported by the Ethiopian Athletics Federation
