Ethiopia’s largest convention center set for grand inauguration today

Addis Ababa, March 1, 2025 (FMC) – The Addis International Convention Center (AICC), Ethiopia’s largest conference center, is set to open its doors today, the Mayor Office of Addis Ababa confirmed in a social media post.

The Addis International Convention Center (AICC), located in Addis Ababa, will be officially inaugurated today, marking a major milestone in the city’s efforts to become a premier destination for global events.

According to the Mayor’s Office, AICC spans over 40 hectares and features world-class facilities. It includes two large halls accommodating up to 4,000 people each, eight additional meeting spaces with a total capacity of 10,000 attendees, and an outdoor exhibition area that can host up to 50,000 visitors.

The center also offers two hotels with a combined capacity of 1,000 guests, two amphitheaters, two malls, and a variety of restaurants, commercial shops, banks, and essential services.

Strategically connected to Lemi Park—the second-largest square in Addis Ababa after Meskel Square—AICC provides parking for up to 2,000 cars, ensuring seamless access for visitors, it was indicated.

With its modern infrastructure, AICC is set to become a key venue for both national and international conferences, further strengthening Ethiopia’s position in the global meetings and exhibitions industry.
