Addis Ababa, February 18, 2025 (FMC) – The Public Information and Communication Delegation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) led by Deputy Director-General of Public Information and Communication of IDCPC Mr. Zhou Rongshui, visited the Headquarters of Fana Media Corporation (FMC) in Addis Ababa on Tuesday. The delegation toured various working departments and facilities in the media institution.
The Chinese delegation discussed with CEO of FMC, Admasu Damtew on ways to enhance cooperation in the media sector thereby enhancing multifaceted cooperation between Ethiopia and China.
Admasu explained to the delegation that FMC is currently accessible to a large audience in eight local and two foreign languages through television, radio and digital media options.
He announced that, in addition to social, economic, political and diplomatic issues, FMC is distributing entertainment contents to the community with the help of modern technology.
The CEO, who indicated that FMC is working in collaboration with various international peer media institutions, including BRICS TV, said that it is carrying out activities that will strengthen people-to-people and cultural cooperation between Ethiopia and friendly countries.
He also stated that the visit of the International Relations Department of the Communist Party of China is helpful to the institution’s efforts to enhance international cooperation and boost people to people ties and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Zhou Rongshui, for his part, stated that the modern tools and methods being used by FMC demonstrate its commitment to quality and accessibility.
He pointed out that the media plays a crucial role in strengthening people-to-people and cultural ties, and affirmed that both his government and his party are ready to cooperate with Fana Media Corporation in the areas of training, technical cooperation, and exchange of experiences.
