Car Battery Manufacturing Factory Built at a Cost of 1 Billion Birr Inaugurated

Addis Ababa, February 25, 2025 (FMC) – A car battery manufacturing factory built at a cost of 1 billion birr near Debre Berhan city, Amhara region, reportedly inaugurated today and goes operational.

The factory, built by a company called Lifan New Energy Manufacturing, was attended by senior federal and regional government officials including Minister of Industry Mr. Melaku Alebel.

This car battery manufacturing factory, which has created job opportunities for 110 citizens, is said to have a significant role in substituting previously imported products in Ethiopia.

In addition, five factories that have been completed in Debre Berhan city and have created more than 1,900 job opportunities were inaugurated, as per information obtained by our colleague Asaye Geremew.

Berhan Gebrehiwot, Head of the Debre Berhan City Industry and Investment Department, announced that 17 factories built in the city at a cost of 11.2 billion birr in the 2024/25 budget year have started production.
