CEO of EIH emphasizes significance of Semera Dry Port & Terminal’s proximity to sea ports

Addis Ababa, March 31, 2025 (FMC) – The CEO of Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH), Brook Taye has emphasized the importance of further developing Semera dry port and terminal due to its significant proximity to sea ports.

This revealed by Ethiopian Shipping and Logistics (ESL) after the visit by senior government offficials hailing from of Ethiopian Investment Holdings at the Semera Dry Port and Terminal as well as Millie Coordination Office, located in the Afar regional state in the northeast part of Ethiopia.

During their visit, officials observed the dry port’s operations, infrastructure, and projects under construction, where they pointed out activities that need to be further expedited.

Mr. Brook Taye (PhD) emphasized that Semera dry port is located in a close distance from sea ports of neighboring countries, so it should be developed and ready.

For his part, Mr. Beriso Amelo (PhD), CEO of ESL, said that the three warehouses and container handling terminal at Semera dry port and terminal are providing services for import and export shipments.

The senior officials visited the state-of-the-art workshop and maintenance garage, vehicle terminal and link road projects under construction during the inspection at the Millie Coordination Office.
