Corridor dev’t in South West Ethiopia Peoples’ Region unlock multifaceted benefits

Addis Ababa, February 6, 2025 (FMC) – The office of the prime minister has highlighted the South West Ethiopia Peoples’ Region as part of its visual series, showcasing the activities underway in the region’s corridor development.

In the region, corridor development efforts are focused on maintaining cities’ master plans, with an emphasis on ensuring legal compliance.

Additionally, construction of pedestrian roads and bike lanes is taking place, alongside the development of drainage systems, green recreational areas, and water, electricity, and telecommunication infrastructure.

The region is also implementing initiatives to enhance food security, including vegetable and livestock production, poultry farming, and dairy herding, as part of its Rural Corridor Development efforts.

Furthermore, programs have been launched to improve sanitation and hygiene at the household level.
