Corridor dev’t uncovered beauty of Jimma city – PM Abiy

Addis Ababa, January 25, 2025 (FMC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) said that the ongoing corridor development work in Jimma has amplified the hidden beauty of historic city.

During his visit to the historic city on Friday, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and his high-level delegation observed development projects that are being undertaken under the “Dine for Generation” initiative as well as the renovation of the Abba Jifar Palace in Jimma.

After touring the progress of the development projects in Jimma, PM Abiy reminded that Ethiopia is a country blessed with natural resources, pointing out that natural wonders in every corner of the country can wowzer the world if developed properly.

From its inception, Medemer philosophy has three main pillars and the first was to understand Ethiopia’s nature, beauty and abundant resources in detail, Abiy reminded.

Drawing instances from this, the Premier praised impressive work done in Jimma by realizing the natural potential of the city. This, according to him, is the result of the combination of creativity, work discipline, and the support of local residents.

He expressed his gratitude for the sincere support of the people of Jimma for development works in the city.

Exemplar activities done in Jimma city can be replicated in other parts of the country through concerted efforts, Abiy asserted.

Jimma is known for its beauty, history and peace; and now its hidden beauty has been further uncovered thanks to development works which are being implemented in the city, he said.

Premier Abiy also underscored the importance of building a lasting legacy for generations to come.
