Deputy PM Temesgen hails integrated corridor development project in Bishoftu
Addis Ababa, December 20, 2024 (FMC) – Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh reviewed an ongoing integrated corridor development project aimed at transforming Bishoftu town into a vibrant hub for tourism and modern living.
The city, renowned as the “mother of seven lakes,” is set to leverage its natural beauty to attract both domestic and international visitors, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
In a recent post on his X account, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen highlighted the initiative’s goals to enhance Bishoftu’s scenic appeal and improve the quality of life for its residents. The project entails the development of modern infrastructure and green spaces that harmoniously blend with the city’s natural landscapes.
City management and project teams are reportedly working diligently to ensure the timely completion of this transformative endeavor, according to the Deputy Premier. The government’s commitment focuses on making cities like Bishoftu not only more livable but also enriching them with greenery and modern amenities.
With the integrated corridor development project, Bishoftu is on track to become a standout example of how urban development can coexist with ecological conservation, positioning it as a key destination for tourism in Ethiopia, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
