Ethiopia aims to be a model of African prosperity – Deputy PM

Addis Ababa, March 10, 2025 (FMC) — The transformation of agriculture in the Amhara region presents a significant opportunity to advance national prosperity goals, according to Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia Mr. Temesgen Truneh.

The Deputy Prime Minister made this remark during a consultation with scholars and stakeholders to discuss a ten-year roadmap aimed at ensuring the region’s agricultural transformation, earlier today.

“Our vision is to position Ethiopia as a model of African prosperity by harnessing the full potential of our agricultural resources, strengthening our national revenue policies, and leveraging our capabilities,” Deputy PM Temesgen nnoted.

He underscored, “Realizing this potential requires diligence, strategic focus, and unwavering commitment to drive sustainable development and lift our country out of poverty.”

Achieving this goal demands not only technical and financial investments but also a shift in work culture and mindset, Temesgen pointed out.

“To successfully implement this plan in alignment with our national objectives, we must foster a spirit of motivation, dedication, and collective responsibility,” he added.
