Ethiopia and Mauritius agree to work closely in key sectors
Addis Ababa, February 16, 2025 (FMC) — During a meeting on the margins of the 38th AU Summit here in Addis Ababa today, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, together with the CEO of Ethiopian Airlines met with the Prime Minister of Mauritius Navin Ramgoolam.
Prime Minister Ramgoolam commended the landmark achievements at the Ethiopian Airlines and vowed to work closely with the Ethiopian Government to enhance ties in the political, socio-cultural and economic sectors.
On the occasion Ambassador Mesganu affirmed the keenness of the Government of Ethiopia to further strengthen its multifaceted relations with Mauritius in key sectors including trade, tourism and aviation and explore additional areas of cooperation on continental and multilateral issues of shared interest.
CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, Mesfin Tassew, also briefed the Prime Minister on the overall continental operations of the pionering Pan-African flag carrier, state-of-the-art maintenance facility, and aviation university, among others.
He also expressed the ETAL’s interest in bringing Ethiopia and Mauritius closer through the facilitation of direct flights between Addis Ababa and Port Louis.
