Ethiopia becomes Regional Training Centre of WMO

Addis Ababa, March 1, 2025 (FMC) – The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has selected Ethiopia as Regional training centre, the East African nation’s Minister of Water and Energy Mr. Habtamu Itefa revealed in a social media post this morning.

It is worth noting that Ethiopia is also hosting regional WMO office for Africa.

“We remain committed to provide any assistance for all our brotherly and sisterly countries in Africa and other content,” the Minister noted, expressing his gratitude to the leadership of Ethiopian Meteorology Institute (EMI), the institute’s Director General Mr. Fetene Teshome, and his team.
