Ethiopia, Pakistan seek to enhance cooperation in trade and economic dev’t
Addis Ababa, April 11, 2025 (FMC) – A delegation of the Pakistan-Ethiopia Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) in the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF PAKISTAN visited the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad and convened a productive meeting with Jemal Beker Abdula, Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan.
Ambassador Jemal welcomed the delegation led by Dr. Arshad Abdullah Vohra, Convener of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, and briefed them about the current level of the bilateral relations of the two countries, according to the Ethiopian Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan.
On the occasion, he stressed the need for enhancing diplomatic engagement between the two brotherly and friendly nations at various levels.
The Ambassador reiterated the commitment to foster Parliamentary cooperation between Ethiopia and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to achieve the objectives of the “Look Africa and Engage Africa” policy of #Pakistan.
He noted the growing bilateral relations between the two countries, which stand together to ensure peace and security at the international level and tackle issues like climate change by fostering cooperation under the Green Legacy Initiative of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia.
The Ambassador briefed them on the preparations for the Single Country Exhibition of Pakistan being hosted by the Government of Ethiopia in Addis Ababa from May 15th to May 17th, 2025.
Arshad Abdullah Vohra underlined the strong and friendly relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan and emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, especially in the areas of trade and economic development.
He reiterated his commitment to fostering closer collaboration between the two countries and fondly recalled his previous visit to Ethiopia as a valuable experience in advancing mutual understanding.
Both sides agreed to continue regular engagements and to actively explore avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
