Ethiopia reaffirms unwavering commitment to driving swift implementation of DESSU corridor MOU
Addis Ababa, February 28, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopia reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to driving the swift implementation of the memorandum of understanding signed on the establishment of the Djibouti- Ethiopia-South Sudan-Uganda (DESSU) Corridor Authority.
Recall that Ethiopia, Djibouti, South Sudan, and Uganda have successfully signed the MOU to fast-track the establishment of a Joint Corridor Management Authority last night following the conclusion of ministerial meeting in Djibouti.
This landmark agreement promises to boost regional trade, connectivity, and economic integration across the Horn of Africa and East Africa, Ethiopia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Mr. Alemu Sime said in a social media post.
The minister reaffirmed Ethiopia’s unwavering commitment to driving the swift implementation, ensuring this corridor becomes a catalyst for shared prosperity. “Together, we’re paving the way for smoother logistics, enhanced cooperation, and a brighter future for our nations,” he said.
Note that Mr. Alemu signed the MOU on behalf of Ethiopia alongside fellow dignitaries from Uganda, South Sudan, and Djibouti.
