Ethiopia, Russia seek to enhance cooperation in multifaceted spheres
Addis Ababa, April 5, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia, Genet Teshome Jirru visited the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Moscow, today.
On the occasion, Genet Teshome discussed with the President, Vladimir Platonov, President, Vladislav Mishchenko, Vice President, and Lidiya Lukashenko, Head of the Department for International Cooperation of the Chamber on the ways to strengthen the business activities and ways of promoting business ties of the two countries.
During the meeting, the President of the Chamber mentioned the role of the Embassies in promoting economic and business relations between Russia and their respective countries.
He also highlighted the potential cooperation areas between the Russian and Ethiopia, such as enhancing ICT infrastructures, and digitization, experience sharing, education exchange and training programs, sustainable urban development, and building smart cities.
On his part, Ambassador Genet discussed the conducive investment environment in his country, particularly in the agricultural, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, mining, and other sectors and the supports provided by the government for foreign investors and requested the support of the leadership of the Chamber in jointly undertaking promotion activities in priority areas in Moscow city.
The two sides agreed to collaborate in promoting business opportunities through the Chamber and AFROCOM.
