Ethiopia, South Sudan commit to deepen cooperation on regional peace and security
Addis Ababa, April 18, 2025 (FMC) — Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Mr. Gedion Timothewos, met the new Foreign Minister of the Republic of South Sudan, Ambassador Monday Semaya Kumba and discussed a wide range of bilateral and regional issues of mutual concern.
Foreign Minister Gedion congratulated Ambassador Monday on his appointment as a Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan and expressed his commitment to work closely with the new Minister to further solidify the bond between Ethiopia and South Sudan.
Ambassador Monday on his part thanked the Minister for receiving him in Addis Ababa on his first bilateral visit as a Foreign Minister and expressed his keenness to work on further elevating the strong political and economic relations between the two countries. Ambassador Monday underscored the role such high level exchange of visits play in this regard.
The two Ministers emphasized the importance of working to ensure peace and security in the region and agreed to work in close collaboration to achieve this objective.
