Ethiopia transforming cities through corridor dev’t works under PM Abiy’s direction

Addis Ababa, February 6, 2025 (FMC) – Under Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s direction, Ethiopia is transforming its cities through urban corridor development, enhancing mobility, economic opportunities, and livability.

Investments in roads, walkways, and lighting are fostering human-centered, walkable communities that integrate housing, businesses, and green spaces while balancing modern infrastructure with sustainability.

As hub cities expand, integrated urban planning will be key to shaping resilient, productive, and livable urban spaces for the future, according to Office of the Prime Minister (PMO).

The PM office stated that it is set to begin a visual series showcasing the progress of rural and urban corridor development across regional states in the country.
