Ethiopia, Turkmenistan discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations

Addis Ababa, April 8, 2025 (FMC) — Minister of Foreign Affairs oF Ethiopia, Mr. Gedion Timothewos and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, today held a telephone conversation and exchanged views on enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the discussion, the two ministers expressed their commitment to deepening diplomatic engagement and expanding cooperation on a range of areas, including economic development, inter-parliamentary dialogue, collaboration within international organizations, and strengthening people-to-people ties.

Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to pursue multifaceted and long-term cooperation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining regular diplomatic dialogue and facilitating high-level visits to further explore areas of mutual interest.

The ministers also expressed optimism about the future of Ethiopia–Turkmenistan relations, underscoring shared opportunities for economic growth, regional stability, and collaboration.
