The minister emphasized Ethiopia’s significant utilization of renewable energy sources, highlighting substantial investments being made in the development of this sector. He also articulated Ethiopia’s clear commitment and ongoing efforts towards exclusively using electric vehicles for sustainable transportation.
Speaking on the Green Legacy Initiative, Gedion further noted, the initiative extends beyond Ethiopia’s borders, serving as a valuable contribution and exemplary model for global climate change resilience efforts.
Thus, the selection to host the P4G platform, underscores Ethiopia’s growing influence and prominence on the global stage, the minister asserted.
He pointed out that the forum will enable other nations to observe Ethiopia’s green development initiatives and practical implementations, fostering a collaborative approach.
The objective of the environmental protection and sustainable development-focused platform, he concluded, is to engage not only governments but also the private sector in mobilizing sufficient financial resources to play its fair share.
