Ethiopian Airlines to mark International Women’s Day with all-women operated flights

Addis Ababa, March 7, 2025 (FMC) — In honor of International Women’s Day, Ethiopian Airlines will operate six flights staffed entirely by women, beginning tonight.

The Airline celebrated International Women’s Day in a grand ceremony attended by Ergoge Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs, along with fellow ministers, Addis Ababa-based foreign diplomats, the Chief Commercial Officer of Ethiopian Airlines Group Mr. Lemma Yadecha, and invited guests.

It was indicated that Ethiopian Airlines is celebrating International Women’s Day for the ninth time with all-women-operated flights.

Starting this evening, the airline will honor the day with special all-women flights to Athens, São Paulo, New Delhi, Windhoek, Dubai, and Bahir Dar, Ethiopian announced.

These flights will feature female pilots, cabin crew, and air traffic controllers, marking a significant step toward promoting gender equality in aviation.

This initiative is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ celebration of both the 114th International Women’s Day and the 49th National Women’s Day.

By exclusively featuring female personnel, the airline aims to highlight the growing role of women in the aviation industry and inspire future generations.
