Ethiopian delegation attending 3rd Africa-Iran Economic Conference in Tehran

Addis Ababa, April 28, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopian delegation, led by Ethiopia’s State Minister of Industry Hassen Mohammed, is attending the 3rd Africa-Iran Economic Cooperation Conference and the Iran International Expo which is being held in Tehran.

The Conference began on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the Islamic Summit Conference Hall (Iran International Conference Center) in Tehran, Iran, with the participation of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian; Iranian Vice-President Mohammad Reza Aref; representatives from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade; as well as numerous dignitaries from Africa.

The Third Iran-Africa Economic Cooperation Conference runs in Tehran from April 27 to May 1, 2025.

Iranian media reported that more than 700 traders from 38 African countries, along with over 50 senior officials, including ministers and chamber of commerce leaders from 29 African nations, are present at this summit.

In a speech on the occasion, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has expressed Tehran’s readiness to share all its achievements in the areas of healthcare, trade, industry, agriculture, security, and peace with African nations.

“We are ready to share with you all the achievements we have made, to share with you what we possess in the areas of healthcare, trade, industry, agriculture, security, peace and tranquility in order to create a world where all people on Earth can coexist in prosperity, security, calm and serenity,” Pezeshkian said.

He emphasized the need for cooperation and solidarity, calling for the creation of an environment based on health, love, compassion, freedom, and humanity.

It was announced that the trade volume between Iran and African countries is planned to reach $10 billion next year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia indicated that the conference will focus on four main areas: “Oil, Gas, Petrochemicals”, “Mining and Mineral Industries”, “Agriculture”, and “Energy”.
