Ethiopia’s reforms charting the way for a brighter future – Deputy PM

Addis Ababa, April 4, 2025 (FMC) — The reforms Ethiopia has launched are charting a course toward remarkable success—separating the wheat from the chaff, and laying the foundation for a brighter future, according to Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Temesgen Truneh.

Highlighting his government’s efforts over the past seven years, Deputy PM Temesgen shared a his thoughts on nationwide efforts and successes achieved. “As we mark the seventh year of our transformative journey, we gather today for a historic moment: the “Excellence in Citizen-Centric Service Delivery” experiential training for our federal leaders. This isn’t just a seminar—it’s a symbol of our commitment to deliver a government that truly serves its people,” he noted.

“We are undertaking reforms that aim to make public service more efficient, more effective, and more accountable—because that’s what our citizens have long deserved,” Temesgen asserted. These reforms, according to him, are not just about policy; they are about building a state that is strong, resilient, and grounded in the hopes of its people.

This work is bigger than any one institution. It is about shaping a model for Africa—a nation that is prosperous, inclusive, and determined to meet the needs of its people with dignity and purpose, the Deputy Prime Minister pointed out.

“To achieve this vision, every government leader must rise to the occasion. Each of us has a responsibility to ensure that the systems we build are efficient, responsive, and worthy of the people we serve,” he said.

Looking ahead, Mr. Temesgen also called for maintaining this momentum collectively in moving forward.
