Foreign Minister thanks volunteers for supporting Ethiopia’s continued role as Africa’s diplomatic hub
Addis Ababa, December 27, 2024 (FMC) – A ten-day training, the first of its kind, concluded today at the Africa Leadership Excellence Academy (AFLEX). The closing ceremony was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion Timothewos, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, the State Minister of Government Communications Services, Tesfahun Gobezay, and the Executive Director of the Institute for Foreign Affairs (IFA), Jafar Bedru.
The training, led by officials from various government ministries and organizations, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, covered key issues related to the upcoming 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government and the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, due to be held in Addis Ababa in February 2025.
During the closing ceremony, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gedion, expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for their commitment to supporting Ethiopia’s continued role as the diplomatic hub of the continent.
State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan, expressed confidence that the upcoming AU Summit would be a success. She also acknowledged the smooth execution of the training at AFLEX and extended her thanks to everyone involved in its preparation and implementation.
