Foundation stone laid for construction of a 1.5 Billion Birr steel factory

Addis Ababa, January 25, 2025 (FMC) – The foundation stone for the construction of the Tomi Steel Factory, which will be built at a cost of 1.2 billion birr, has been laid in Shinle town, Siti Zone, Somali Regional State.

While laying the foundation stone today, the Chief Administrator of Somali Region, Mr. Mustafe Omer, assured that the regional government’s full support to the factory owners.

The steel factory to be built in Eastern Ethiopia will contribute significantly to the production of quality steel that can be supplied to construction purposes, regional media reported.
