Gondar City’s vibrancy unleashed as part of corridor dev’t in Amhara Region: PM Office

Addis Ababa, February 9, 2025 (FMC) – Gondar city’s vibrancy is being unleashed as part of the Amhara region’s corridor development, the Office of the Prime Minister stated.

In addition, the restoration of Fasilides Castle in Gondar spearheaded by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is a significant step in preserving Ethiopia’s rich architectural and historical heritage, according to the Office.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the restoration of Fasilides Castle enhances national pride, protects cultural identity, and serves as a model for future conservation efforts, the Office underscored.

By maintaining the structural integrity and historical authenticity of the castle, the project reinforces the importance of preserving Ethiopia’s historic sites.
