IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva tours Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, February 9, 2025 (FMC) – Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), paid a visit to the Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa.

The Managing Director was accompanied by Finance Minister Ahmed Shide, National Bank Governor Mamo Mehretu, Planning and Development Minister Fitsum Assefa (PhD), and other senior officials, on her visit to the historic site.

During her time in Ethiopia, Georgieva is set to engage in discussions with top government officials, including Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), focusing on Ethiopia’s economic growth, key policy priorities, economic reforms, and opportunities the reforms created for the private sector.

In addition to the Adwa Victory Memorial, the Managing Director also toured the National Palace, the ‘Lenegewa’ Women’s Rehabilitation and Skills Development Center, and Berhan Boarding School for Visually Impaired.
