Moscow, February 15, 2025 (TV BRICS) – Indonesia has introduced a nationwide Free Health Check programme aimed at improving public health and preventing common diseases through early detection. The initiative seeks to provide comprehensive health screenings for all age groups, from infants to the elderly. This is reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Maria Endang Sumiwi, Director General of Primary and Community Health at the Ministry of Health, stated that the programme is a proactive measure to curb preventable diseases and enhance awareness of health conditions among citizens.

The screenings cover a range of medical assessments, including hormone deficiency detection, congenital heart disease screening, nutrition analysis, and checks for hearing, vision, and blood pressure. For adults and elderly individuals, the programme also focuses on evaluating risks for stroke, heart disease, cancer, and both mental and physical well-being.

By Monday afternoon, approximately 17,000 people had participated in the initiative, according to Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin. He emphasised that the primary goal of the programme is not only to diagnose illnesses but to maintain public health through early intervention and preventive care.
