Israel vows to cooperate with Ethiopia in agricultural technology and innovation sectors
Addis Ababa, February 5, 2025 (FMC) – The Minister of Innovation and Technology, Belete Molla (PhD), discussed with Israeli Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Eli Cohen on ways of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in a range of fields.
The discussions centered on crucial areas such as technology development, innovation, research, startup growth, and energy solutions.
According to Belete Molla, Ethiopia is committed to developing its digital economy, supporting startups, advancing research, and enhancing technological transformation. He highlighted the potential benefits of collaborating with Israel, a leader in innovation and technology, to create a conducive environment for digital transformation in Ethiopia.
Minister Eli Cohen acknowledged the long-standing ties between the two countries and emphasized the need for intensified cooperation in agricultural technology, innovation, and emerging technologies. He also stated that Israel is prepared to support Ethiopia’s innovation ecosystem by sharing knowledge and forming partnerships that benefit the local community.
The two sides also explored potential investment opportunities in various sectors in Ethiopia, where Israeli investors can play a significant role.
