Israeli Minister: Visit to Addis Ababa enhances bilateral ties with Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, February 5, 2025 (FMC) – Israeli Energy and Infrastructure Minister Eli Cohen has asserted that his recent visit to Ethiopia will enhance the robust ties between the two nations.
In a press briefing following his trip, Minister Cohen highlighted that his meetings with various Ethiopian officials aimed at fostering collaboration in technology, agriculture, and health sectors.
During his visit, Minister Cohen engaged with several key figures, including Minister of Irrigation and Lowland Areas Abraham Belay (PhD), Minister of Innovation and Technology Belete Molla (PhD), Minister of Mines Habtamu Tegen and Minister of Water and Energy, Habtamu Ittefa (PhD).
The minister’s discussions with Ethiopian officials focused on boosting cooperation in innovation, technology, research, startup development, and the energy sector. He expressed optimism that these talks would pave the way for Israeli investors to explore opportunities in Ethiopia across various fields.
Israeli Ambassador to Ethiopia, Abraham Nigussie, echoed this sentiment, stating that Minister Cohen’s visit is set to strengthen the comprehensive relations between the two countries. During his stay, Eli Cohen also shared his admiration for Ethiopian coffee, expressing interest in finding ways to enhance its supply to Israel.
