Nigerian defense delegation visits Ethiopia’s cybersecurity and signals intelligence agency

Addis Ababa, April 7, 2025 (FMC) A senior delegation from the Nigerian Defence Resource Centre, led by Major General Sanusi Dahiru, Commander of the Nigerian Army Headquarters Garrison, visited the headquarters of Ethiopia’s Information Network Security Administration (INSA) in Addis Ababa on Monday.

INSA’s Deputy Director General Ms. Aster Dawit provided an overview of her agency’s work in national signals intelligence and cybersecurity, detailing its advancements in technology, skilled workforce development, and operational systems to protect Ethiopia’s digital infrastructure.

In return, the Nigerian defense officials praised Ethiopia for establishing a modern, competent institution to safeguard its cyber sovereignty.

They also emphasized the strong diplomatic relations between Ethiopia and Nigeria, noting that cybersecurity presents a key area for future cooperation between the two nations.

The delegation further stressed the importance of strategic collaboration among African cybersecurity and signals intelligence agencies, advocating for coordinated efforts to ensure the continent’s digital security and sovereignty.
