PM Abiy concludes his visit to Somalia, returns to Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, Feberuary 27, 2025 (FMC) — Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), together with high-level delegation, returned to Addis Ababa after concluding a one-day official working visit to Mogadishu, Somalia, Office of the Prime Minister confirmed.

Note that Prime Minister Abiy and his delegation travelled to Mogadishu, Somalia, earlier today.

In Mogadishu, PM Abiy and President Hassan Sheikh Mahmud of Somalia held extensive discussions, building on previous engagements to strengthen bilateral relations.

Their talks focused on peace and security, the economy, diplomacy, and opportunities for joint infrastructure development, as per the PM Office.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed emphasized the region’s immense potential for cooperation and mutual benefit, stating: “The Horn of Africa is rich in resources—fertile lands, fresh water, and human capital. Yet, as a region, we struggle to feed ourselves. This makes integration essential to achieving our shared aspirations.”

The Prime Minister and his delegation have concluded their visit and returned to Ethiopia, it was mentioned.
