PP President says re-election an inspiration to move forward with renewed commitment
Addis Ababa, February 2, 2025 (FMC) – The President of the ruling Prosperity Party of Ethiopia Abiy Ahmed (PhD) stated that his re-election as head of the country’s ruling party is an inspiration to move forward with renewed commitment.
It is worth noting that second congress of Prosperity Party has re-elected Abiy Ahmed as its president this morning. On the occasion, the congress also elected Mr. Temesgen Truneh and Mr. Adem Farah as the party’s vice presidents. Three of the party’s top officials took an oath infront of the congress.
Following his re-election as his party’s president, Abiy took it to social media and hailed the election process which demonstrated implementation of democratic values and digital prosperity.
“Today, we conducted Prosperity Party’s election, embracing technology as part of our national journey toward digital transformation,” he said in a social media post.
“The trust and responsibility entrusted to me and the deputy presidents through this reelection inspires us to move forward with renewed commitment,” the PP president and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia added.
Recall that the second congress of Prosperity Party has been held from 31st January to 2nd February in Addis Ababa under the theme “From Pledge to Practice”. The party’s second congress brought together thousands of members, invited guests, leaders and representatives of parties from various countries across the world.
