Pres. Taye congratulates Abiy Ahmed on his re-election as the ruling party’s president

Addis Ababa, February 2, 2025 (FMC) — The FDRE President Taye Atske-Selassie has sent a congratulatory message to Prosperity Party President Abiy Ahmed (PhD) on his re-election as the president of Ethiopia’s current ruling party.

In a message published on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), President Taye also extended his best wishes to the party’s vice presidents Mr. Temesgen Tiruneh and Mr. Adem Farah on their election.

Note that the ruling party’s second congress has re-elected Abiy Ahmed as its president and Mr. Temesgen and Mr. Adem as vice presidents earlier today.

Prosperity Party is holding its second congress since Friday 31st January in Addis Ababa under the theme “From Pledge to Practice”.

Scheduled to conclude this evening, PP’s second congress is also electing members of the party’s central committee.

The event brought together thousands of members of the party, invited guests representatives and leaders of parties from various countries across the world.
