President announces Ethiopia’s regional initiative to ensure grid connectivity with 14 nations

Addis Ababa, January 28, 2025 (FMC) – President Taye Atske-Selassie shared Ethiopia’s plan to double power generation to 13,000 MW by 2028.

The President explained about Ethiopia’s regional initiative to connect with 14 countries through grid connectivity.

Ethiopia is undertaking domestic resource mobilization, including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) bonds to achieve its goals in the green energy sector, according to the President.

The President is attended the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, which took place in Dar es Salaam from for two days starting yesterday.
