President Taye emphasizes Timket festival’s role in promoting cultural heritages in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, January 20, 2025 (FMC) – President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE), Taye Atske-Selassie participated in the Timket festival held in the historic city of Gondar.

During his visit, the President toured the newly renovated Fasil Ghebbi, the famed fortress-city built by Emperor Fasilides, and engaged with local public representatives.

In a social media post reflecting on the celebration, President Taye expressed his delight in meeting tourists at the vibrant Timket (Ethiopian Epiphany) festivities. He noted, “It was a pleasure to greet visitors who described their experience as unparalleled and truly memorable.”

The President emphasized that such significant religious and cultural events like Timket play a vital role in enhancing Ethiopia’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
