Prosperity Party and Communist Party of China Partnership gaining momentum: Adem Farah
Addis Ababa, December 23, 2024 (FMC) – Adem Farah, Vice President of the Prosperity Party (PP) and Head of the Democratic System Building Center at the rank of Deputy Prime Minister, announced that the collaboration between the party and the Communist Party of China (CPC) is increasingly gaining traction.
His remarks came during a meeting with China’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Chen Hai, at his office earlier today. The two leaders discussed various strategies to enhance mutual benefits for the citizens of both countries, aiming to strengthen diplomatic relations and bolster trade and investment partnerships.
Adem reaffirmed the Prosperity Party’s dedication to advancing the long-standing relationships between Ethiopia and China. He highlighted previous agreements focused on capacity-building training and knowledge exchange.
Additionally, he noted the recent visit by Ethiopian officials to China as a significant step in reinforcing their bilateral partnership across various sectors.
Ambassador Chen Hai echoed Adem’s sentiments, emphasizing Ethiopia’s status as a close strategic partner of China. He reiterated his government’s commitment to elevate the relationship on both party and government levels. Chen also expressed his support for Ethiopia’s membership in the BRICS community as a promising avenue for further cooperation and welcomed the Ankara Declaration between Ethiopia and Somalia as a means to enhance mutual benefits for both nations.
