Selemon Barega triumphs in his Marathon debut at the 2025 Zurich Maratón de Sevilla

Addis Ababa, February 23, 2025 (FMC) – In his marathon debut, Selemon Barega secured victory at the 2025 Zurich Maratón de Sevilla held in Seville, Spain, on Sunday. The athlete completed the race in an outstanding time of 2:05:14, marking his first win in a marathon event.

Selemon, an Olympic gold medallist in the 10,000m from the Tokyo 2020 Games and an indoor world champion in the 3,000m, also boasts a silver medal in the 5,000m, solidifying his status as one of the premier long-distance runners in the sport today.
