Slovenia says ready to work closely with Ethiopia in apiary sector
Addis Ababa, February 26, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopia’s Minister of Agriculture, Girma Amente, had discussion with the Ambassador of Slovenia to Ethiopia, Kristina Radej, on the issues that can enable Ethiopia and Slovenia to work together in the field of Agriculture.
The Minister and the Ambassador discussed cooperation in apiculture and the celebration of the 2nd World Bee Day.
On the occasion, the Minister said that his government has been giving special attention to the agriculture sector for the past six years to ensure the food security in the nation.
He expounded on irrigated wheat development, the Green Legacy, and Bounty of Basket /Yelemat Trufat National programs. The Minister added that the government of Ethiopia is working aggressively and excellent results are being recorded.
Girma stated that Slovenia has hosted the 1st World Bee Day and said that Ethiopia would like to learn from Slovenia’s experience regarding World Bee Day hosting.
For her part, Ambassador Kristina Radej gave an explanation about the apiculture sector in her country and the experience in hosting the 1st World Bee Day. She expressed Slovenia’s willingness and commitment to share experience for Ethiopia regarding the apiculture and the hosting of Bee Day.
