UK’s Deputy PM visits Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute
Addis Ababa, February 17, 2025 (FMC) – Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Angela Rayner, today paid a visit to the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (EAII).
During her visit, the UK’s deputy premier was joined by her Ethiopian counterpart Mr. Temesgen Truneh. On the occasion, she saw firsthand how Ethiopia and the UK are collaborating to integrate A.I. into health, agriculture, security, logistics, and more driving innovation and progress.
During the visit, the two deputy prime ministers had fruitful discussions on how the two countries can work together in technology and other areas of cooperation, including artificial intelligence.
Ethiopia and United Kingdom are countries with strong friendships that have spanned many years, Mr. Temesgen said in a social media post after the visit to EAII.
The visit of Angela Rayner is a reflection of the growing cooperation between Ethiopia and the UK, he added.
